Using Zoom for Online Classes

Requirements

  • A computer

  • Headphones / speakers

  • A microphone 

  • An internet connection

Please prepare and test these before the class. 

What to do

  • Before class the teacher will open a Zoom call and send you an invitation link and password by email.

  • Students can join the call by web browser or by Zoom application.



Join by web Browser

  • Receive the invitation link

  • If asked to open the Zoom desktop client, click Cancel.

  • Click the Join from your Browser link.

  • You may need to sign up first.

  • Enter the password from the email to join our online classroom.

Join by Zoom application

  • Download the Zoom software before the lesson: https://zoom.us/download

  • Receive the invitation link via email

  • When asked to open the Zoom desktop client, click Open Zoom Meetings.

  • Enter the password to join our online classroom.

  • Follow the instructions to test your video and audio are working.

  • Click the big blue button which says, Join Audio on Computer, to enable audio.

  • Click Start Video in the bottom left-hand corner to enable the webcam.

  • The lesson will then begin.

  • You can also click Chat in the online classroom to type a message.
